PRIVACY AT MOVERDUDE

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information MoverDude collects, why we use it, when information may be shared, and the choices you may have regarding your personal information.

Effective: October 12, 2026 Last updated: October 12, 2026
THE SHORT VERSION

Your information should have a clear purpose.

Planning comes first.

Basic calculators and planning tools should not require unnecessary contact information.

Provider contact is separate.

Information is shared with a moving provider only through a separate provider-request workflow with affirmative permission.

We minimize collection.

We aim to collect only information reasonably needed for the feature, request, or business purpose involved.

01

Scope and MoverDude's role

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information processed through MoverDude.com and MoverDude-operated forms, planning tools, provider-request workflows, communications, and related online services that link to this Policy.

MoverDude is an independent moving-information and provider-connection platform. MoverDude is not a moving company and does not itself transport household goods. Moving providers are independent businesses.

When you use a calculator or planning tool, you are using a MoverDude planning feature. When you separately ask to be connected with a moving provider, additional information and permissions may be collected for that specific request.

Planning estimates displayed by MoverDude are informational planning ranges and are not binding quotes from a moving company.
02

Information we collect

The information collected depends on which MoverDude feature you choose to use.

Move-planning information

This may include origin and destination ZIP codes or general locations, target move date or month, home size, property type, packing preferences, access considerations, move preferences, inventory details, checklist activity, calculator inputs, calculator results, and other planning information you choose to provide.

Contact information

When needed for a feature or request, we may collect information such as your first and last name, email address, telephone number, and information contained in a message you send to MoverDude. A telephone number is not required merely to use basic planning tools unless a particular workflow clearly states otherwise.

Provider-request and consent information

If you affirmatively request provider contact, we may collect the move facts needed for the request, your requested contact channels, applicable phone or SMS permissions, the consent language shown to you, consent status, timestamp, form or page version, and the provider recipients or selection associated with the request.

Website and device information

Depending on the feature and our operating systems, we may automatically receive information such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, pages or features used, timestamps, approximate location derived from information such as ZIP code or IP address, security events, and similar technical information.

Moving-company and business information

If you represent a moving company, advertiser, partner, or other business, we may collect business contact details, company name, service information, operating-authority information, service areas, application information, and communications with MoverDude.

Information we do not ask you to submit

The basic MoverDude planning experience is not designed to collect Social Security numbers, financial-account credentials, payment-card numbers, government identification documents, medical information, children's information, passwords, or other highly sensitive credentials. Please do not place that information in free-text forms, inventory notes, or contact messages.

03

Sources of information

We may collect information directly from you when you complete a form, use a planning tool, contact MoverDude, request a provider introduction, submit a moving-company application, or otherwise interact with the site.

We may also receive technical information automatically from your browser or device, information from service providers that support the site, and business or provider information from public records, moving companies, or other lawful sources.

04

How we use information

We may use personal information to provide and operate MoverDude; generate planning results; save or restore move-plan information; maintain checklists or inventories; respond to messages; process a provider request you initiate; document contact permissions; communicate about a requested service; operate the provider pilot; improve tools and site usability; detect abuse, fraud, or security problems; maintain records; comply with legal obligations; and protect MoverDude, users, providers, and others.

Requested service communications and optional marketing communications are treated as different purposes. Requesting a plan, using a tool, or contacting MoverDude does not automatically enroll you in general promotional email, calling, or text messaging.

05

Moving-provider introductions

Provider contact is separate from MoverDude's basic planning experience. We do not treat use of a calculator, checklist, inventory tool, or other basic planning feature as permission to send your contact information to moving companies.

If you affirmatively submit a provider request, MoverDude may disclose the information identified in that request to the provider or providers selected for the introduction, subject to the permissions and contact channels shown to you when you submit.

The information disclosed may include your name, contact information you supplied, origin and destination information, timing, home size, service preference, move details, and communication permissions relevant to the request.

A provider introduction does not guarantee provider availability, acceptance, a quote, a booking, a particular price, or completion of a move.
06

Cookies, browser storage, analytics and similar technology

MoverDude and service providers supporting the site may use cookies, local browser storage, session storage, logs, pixels, or similar technologies to operate features, remember settings, prevent abuse, measure site performance, understand use of the site, and support attribution or advertising disclosures where applicable.

Some MoverDude tools may save planning information directly in your browser or on your device. For example, the Moving Inventory tool may store the inventory you create in local browser storage. Information stored only in your browser is not transmitted to MoverDude merely because it is stored there. Clearing browser data, resetting the tool, using another browser, or changing devices may remove or make that locally stored information unavailable.

General analytics systems should not be intentionally sent raw names, email addresses, telephone numbers, street addresses, inventory notes, contact-message text, or the exact consent language associated with an individual.

07

How information may be disclosed

We may disclose personal information to service providers and contractors that perform services for MoverDude, such as website hosting, communications, email delivery, security, spam prevention, analytics, infrastructure, data management, and similar operational services, subject to appropriate contractual or legal restrictions where required.

We may disclose information to moving providers when you affirmatively request an introduction or provider contact as described above.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or governmental requests; detect or address fraud, abuse, security incidents, or safety issues; protect rights or property; complete a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or similar business transaction; or when you direct or consent to the disclosure.

08

Sale, sharing, targeted advertising and privacy signals

MoverDude may receive compensation when a consumer requests certain provider introductions, interacts with certain commercial links, or through advertising or partnership arrangements. Depending on the jurisdiction, the information flows involved in a compensated introduction, advertising activity, or certain tracking technologies may be defined as a “sale,” “sharing,” or processing for targeted advertising even when MoverDude does not exchange a traditional customer list for cash.

Where applicable law provides an opt-out right, you may exercise that choice through Your Privacy Choices. Where applicable law requires us to recognize a qualifying universal opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, we treat that signal in accordance with applicable law.

A browser “Do Not Track” setting is different from legally recognized universal opt-out preference signals. Because there is no single universally applicable Do Not Track standard, the site may not respond to every DNT signal in the same manner.

For more information about commercial relationships and paid placement, review our Advertising Disclosure.

09

Data retention

We retain information for no longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to legal, contractual, accounting, security, dispute-resolution, and recordkeeping requirements.

Retention can vary by category. Browser-only tool information may remain until you reset the tool or clear browser storage. Contact messages may be retained while needed to address the inquiry and maintain appropriate business records. Provider-request and consent records may need to be retained longer to document permissions, disclosures, revocations, disputes, or compliance. Limited suppression information may be retained when necessary to honor an opt-out or prevent unwanted re-contact.

Where deletion is required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify applicable information and to direct processors or recipients to do the same when required by law.

10

Information security

MoverDude uses administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure of information. The safeguards appropriate for a particular system depend on the nature of the information and the way it is processed.

No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. For that reason, you should not send passwords, financial-account credentials, payment-card information, government identification numbers, or other unnecessary sensitive information through general contact or planning fields.

11

Your privacy rights and choices

Depending on where you live and whether a particular privacy law applies to MoverDude's processing of your information, you may have rights to request access to or confirmation of personal information, obtain a copy, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, request portability, opt out of certain sales or sharing, opt out of targeted advertising, opt out of certain profiling, withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, or appeal certain privacy-request decisions.

You may begin a privacy request through Your Privacy Choices or through the Contact MoverDude page. We may need to verify information reasonably necessary to confirm that the request relates to you.

If applicable law allows an authorized agent to submit a request for you, we may request documentation establishing the agent's authority and may still need to verify your identity directly where permitted.

We do not discriminate against a person for exercising a privacy right protected by applicable law.

Marketing choices

You may unsubscribe from marketing email using the unsubscribe mechanism included in the message. A marketing opt-out does not prevent necessary transactional or service communications about a request you made.

Where calling or SMS permissions are offered, those permissions are handled separately from basic site use. Revoking one communication channel does not automatically revoke another unless the request or applicable law requires it.

12

Supplemental notice for California residents

This section applies to the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, applies to MoverDude's processing of your personal information.

The categories of information MoverDude may collect include identifiers; information relating to a consumer's move and requested service; internet or other electronic network activity; approximate location information; professional or employment information submitted by provider representatives; and inferences or planning outputs generated from information supplied to a MoverDude tool.

The business purposes for collection include providing requested tools and services, responding to consumers, processing requested provider introductions, maintaining records and consent evidence, security, debugging, analytics, site improvement, legal compliance, and business operations.

Categories may be disclosed to service providers and contractors, and information included in an affirmative provider request may be disclosed to the provider or providers associated with that request. Certain compensated provider introductions, advertising relationships, or advertising technologies may constitute a “sale” or “sharing” under California law depending on the facts and applicable definitions.

If applicable, California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and obtain information about certain disclosures, and to opt out of sale or sharing. Qualifying opt-out preference signals are processed as required by applicable law.

We do not intentionally use the basic MoverDude planning experience to collect Social Security numbers, account passwords, financial-account credentials, government identification numbers, health information, or precise geolocation. Please do not submit that information in general free-text fields.

13

Children's privacy

MoverDude is designed for adults planning household moves and business representatives, not for children under 13. We do not knowingly seek personal information directly from children under 13 through the site's general-audience services.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to MoverDude in circumstances that require removal, please contact us so the situation can be reviewed.

14

Third-party websites and services

MoverDude may link to moving providers, government resources, advertisers, affiliates, or other third-party websites and services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.

Before giving information directly to a third party, review that party's privacy disclosures and terms.

15

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as MoverDude's services, technology, business model, or legal obligations change. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and provide additional notice where required by law.

If a change requires new consent before information can be used for a materially different purpose, we will seek that consent when required rather than treating continued browsing as consent where the law requires an affirmative choice.
